CompletePBX 5.0.41 – Emergency Call Management, Disk Cleanup & more

Mar 8, 2018 | CompletePBX Change Log, VoIP PBX Technical Updates

Improvements

  • Emergency Call Management – a new Emergency module allows the administrator to define one or more emergency numbers and what happens when those numbers are dialed.  Emergency module features:
    • Priority – if an emergency number is dialed it will be processed as an emergency call before any other system consideration, including class-of-service, phone status, and other dial-plan considerations.
    • Emergency calls from locked phones – following the previous item – calls to the predefined emergency numbers will go through even if the phone is locked by the user.
    • Email notification of emergency phone calls – it is possible to set one or more email address to receive an immediate email notification when an emergency number is dialed by any user.  The email will contain the time, date and extension that initiated the call.
    • Emergency call destinations – for each emergency call it is possible to set its destination among several options, including – trunks, outbound routes, custom application (predefined in the system) or a custom context with details.
  • Disk-space cleaner – a new Free Disk Space script is now available in the task manager and enabled by default.  The Free Disk Space (FDS) script makes sure the disk space never gets 100% full, to ensure minimum operating disk space for all system needs at any given time.  The FDS runs periodically and deletes older items if the pre-defined high threshold has been reached until there is enough disk space as defined in the low threshold.  By default, when the disk usage goes over 95% FDS will delete older files until reaching 90% disk usage.  The task will delete old backups, recordings, logs and unnecessary files based on priorities and several parameters available via the task manager.  For each item, there is a pre-defined minimum level below which the FDS will not delete (e.g. minimal number of backups, minimal recording disk space etc.)  Note that FDS is not supposed to kick in under normal circumstances and proper management of recordings and backups.
  • One-dial call-forwarding setup – it is now possible to set and activate call forward using one dial by dialing the feature code followed by * and the target number.  It is no longer necessary to wait for the prompt to enter the phone destination phone number.  For example, to set Call Forward Immediately to destination number 2271, the user will have to dial:  *59*2271.  This will both activate immediate call forward and set the destination number to 2271.
  • Endpoint manager (IP phone provisioning module) now shows device username rather than extension username.

Bug Fixes

  • Calls send from ITSPs with DID containing the +character at the beginning of the phone number would fail. Fixed.
  • Call to ring group that is transferred to another extension does not honor the destination extension’s diversions.  Fixed.
  • Called party CallerID name not shown.  Fixed.  Now the caller will see the destination device description.
  • CompletePBX cron jobs fail on the TwinStar backup server.  Fixed.
  • No validation on Parking deletion when used as a destination.  Fixed.
  • Internal Improvements
