Client Background

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) is a leading Indian shipbuilding and ship-repair company specializing in the construction and modernization of commercial vessels.

Communication Requirement

As part of ship outfitting, GSL requires reliable networking, telecom and onboard communication systems to support efficient communication and operations across its vessels.

Modernizing a Fragmented Telecom Environment

Key Communication Challenges

The existing environment required a secure, scalable and centrally managed communication platform.

No centralized call control across multiple office locations.
Limited support for encrypted, secure voice communication.
Poor scalability to accommodate a growing user base.
Lack of mobility features for remote and roaming staff.

Maritronics was operating on a fragmented legacy telecom system with limited scalability and no centralized PBX. Communication across sites was disjointed, making it difficult to support encrypted voice traffic, workforce mobility, and seamless connectivity between offices.

03 — Solution

Grandstream Unified Communications Deployment

Maritronics India Pvt Ltd, as the System Integrator Partner, designed and delivered an end-to-end unified communications solution built on Grandstream hardware sourced through Micro Village Communications.

UCM6300A IP PBX

Installed as the core IP PBX with SIP trunk integration, scaled to support 800 extensions.

WP825 IP Phones

150 handsets configured with auto-provisioning, SRTP/TLS encryption and mobility features.

GWN7660ELR Access Points

12 outdoor access points deployed for high-performance wireless coverage and secure roaming.

Advanced Communication Features

IVR, call queues, voicemail-to-email and VPN support configured for remote extensions.

Centralized Communication Platform

Together, these components replaced the client's legacy telephony with a single, centrally managed platform capable of secure voice, data, and wireless connectivity across all sites.
